“With each sweet draught”... draws to mind the ever constant posture of forgiveness, and the realization that for me forgiveness is a gift.

Thanks, Cor. Yes, such a gift. And such a mystery in some ways. I find myself puzzling sometimes, Just what is it? Forgiveness?

I’ve wanted to tell my college roommate for 30 years that I forgive her... whether she wanted me to or not. She passed last week. Thank you for your words, Anna.

My heart goes out to you, Jan. Those unresolved relationships can keep after us for such a long time. The forgiveness was in your heart, and maybe that was what mattered. In my experience, it is also possible to set things right with someone after they've passed. Wishing for complete peace of mind for you and the roommate who hurt you.
